Throughout the new offices of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, there is a metaphorical expression of time on several scales. On the one hand, the lobby skylight affords a view of the sky which reminds one of cosmic time. The glass walls, titled Strata, are suggestive of the Earth’s sedimentary layers as exposed by a fissure through its surface. As a visitor seated in the waiting area, you are flanked by glistening textured glass interrupted by streaks of precious reflective glass.
